Tim Lam Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 Okay? You won't hear any difference between 8 gauge wire and 12 gauge wire, or 16 gauge for that matter proably. On the TermLab, maybe. But I highly doubt you are going only after numbers. LOL
TylerParrish Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 Just a heads up, you don't NEED 8 gauge wire.. Ahhh, good ol' overkill. My sub doesn't even accept 8 gauge, but I use it cause I like the wires to fit in my amp justtttt right What the f**k is an appropriate signature supposed to look like?2013 Kia Forte Koup Pioneer AVH-X4600BT iDMax 12 DD M1c @ 2 ohms Rockford Prime 200.2 Pioneer 6.75" Comp Set XS S3400, D2700 Project DB Battery Terminals Axxess ASWC Stinger HPM Everywhereeee 90 Sq. kl0wn Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 I heard a huge freaking difference by ear when I upgraded from shitty CCA 16 gauge cadence wire to 8 gauge OFC gauge Audio Technix, and plus 16 gauge can only transfer 300 watts at 2 ohms, less at 1 ohms. You also went from shit wire to good wire. And I was just stating, in the real world there won't be that much of a difference to the ear if you're going based on the same brand of wire. You have too much stuff to account for. 06 Mini Cooper S Sundown, SoundQubed Cadence, XS Power 151s Sealed 155s Outlaw Windshield @ 37hz

Honestly, I really don't care, if I want to use oversized wire, I'll use it, it's my money, and I'll know that I'm getting plenty of headroom for current transfer, even if I don't use up half the wire, better to overkill then underkill. 2003 Kia Sorento Team Subsonic LowsTeam Bassin' on a Budget2016 Rebuild Under Construction Best score: 150.2 at 40hz (3k, 2 Custom HDC3 15's) Usaci style(door open, in the kick)

Omega5002 Posted September 3, 2012 Report Posted September 3, 2012 I ain't mad bro I just like the looks of 8 gauge wire over smaller wire, is it needed, no not really, 12 gauge could have worked for me, but I wanted to do something different. 2003 Kia Sorento Team Subsonic LowsTeam Bassin' on a Budget2016 Rebuild Under Construction Best score: 150.2 at 40hz (3k, 2 Custom HDC3 15's) Usaci style(door open, in the kick)
