~500rms@2ohm amps

i am surprised nobody mentioned the jl500/1 amp. it does 500 from 1.5-4ohms clean all day long.

03 Santa Fe E A 200 amp alt,JVC AVX840,kenwood 6.5 fr speakers,eclipse 6.5 rears,mids/high amp XTA-2160, sub amp XTA-5000d,0 guage throughout,batts-front/1 batcap 2000,rear/ batcap4000,2 C&D Dynasty agms, subs 2 DC XL M1 15"s in a music box tuned to 28hz....for now.

Also cost a lot if you can't find a deal on it. What about the DD CM600? Or even the SS1B, bad ass little amp.

OP, the Kenwood being discussed is FAR from the best option here. They indeed get hot at 2 ohms, and won't go below 2 ohms successfully. If I were you, I'd look into an older Fosgate P6001, or 5002 that will do the power at the ohm load you're requesting.

I've personally run both those amps in the same build and they worked beautifully. I ran the 6001 to my subs, and the 5002 to my components.

I love amps like that P5002, old school 2 channels, that put out the most power at 4 ohms. I had a old MTX amp that died on me that was like that, had so much power in that little thing.

LOL I was gonna say that too in my first post but then I read the $150 shipped part, I have one and it works beautifully

If you can find the 500/1 for a good price, I'd take it, very good quality amp, which is really the thing I like about JL Audio, is their amps.
