brougham kid Posted September 4, 2012 Report Posted September 4, 2012 I have a 88 caprice classic (box Chevy) looking to build a SPL system in trunk. I want to port the rear deck and use 10" subs for my application to deliver that tight bass, but not sure of how many. What type of subwoofer setup that you would recommend for a killer SPL system for my vehicle using 10" subs and the quantity? Thanks everyone for viewing my posting.
brougham kid Posted September 5, 2012 Author Report Posted September 5, 2012 Give some maximum dims for the box. The trunk dimensions are 55"L X 53"W X 13"H
Joe X Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 You can do 4 high power 10" ported subs/port forward sealed off. There would be some 4th order bandpass options in that space of you want to explore that.

I never thought about 4th order
john253a Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 why only 13"h? that seem pretty low, in would have expected 15-16H, how much power? elect system to support the power? budget?
will77530 Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 ok first off if you want to get numbers out of the trunk you do not want a fourth order plain and simple..if you want to do tens theyre are plenty of brands out there you can look at. look up thorshammer on youtube or terry brocks. there is a reason that there trunk set ups are almost identical and they get huge numbers.
