bench Posted September 5, 2012 Report Posted September 5, 2012 Hey I am wondering what will be in theory louder, either 2 10s on 4000 watts or one 12 on 4000 watts. I currently have a 12 on 2000 and I can either double the power or get 2 10s and double power, I do not have space for 2 12s will I see a noticeable difference with the 2 10s at the same power? Thanks

This Plus there is also the aspect of finding a single sub that can take 4k daily. You would be better with 2 10s for thermal power handling. ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444

ALPINE408 Posted September 11, 2012 Report Posted September 11, 2012 i use to run old street A in db drag 2 10's or 1 12 is your choices 2 10's were the leaders in that class and what i ran as well Have you ever had your woofers blown?
STL.Don Posted September 12, 2012 Report Posted September 12, 2012 Now it all depends on the subs you choose. Now if you have 2 10" Kicker CVX's vs 1 12" Ascendant Audio Havoc, the Havoc would have it in the bag. But with it being a differnece between splitting the power and having one large sub it depends. There are many factors as well, like box size, port setup, and such. Now for the power are you talking max or rms?

But I am trying to get at it isn't necessarily the cone area it plays in many factors some or which include the type of sub, box, amps, etc. My mistake.
