Halostryker
I'm building a box with 4 12 inch kenwood subs they have about an xmax of 7 mm I think and I was wondering if having a port that Is in the size range of 5 inches by 13 inches would be to large to move any air. Would it be better to have it be 3x13 instead
Guest
impossible to know unless we know how big the box is after displacements.
Halostryker
Its gonna be 4.56 cubic feet after sub and bracing, but before port displacement
bassface
Is it round port that is 5"diameter by 13 long, or a square port that is 5h x 13w. Also what model of kenwood subs.

Halostryker
look out 7mm of xmax sorry I'm not really worried about xmax, just thought this would be a fun project. Plus in the future I can always throw something better in there when and if I have the money
bassface
I think the box is way too small for 4 12's
bkolfo4
impossible to know unless we know how big the box is after displacements. Please dont say this!!!!!! OP - 3 x 13 is a little small even with the lower performance subs. I would stick with the 5 x 13 port if it fits. Current system: 1997 Blazer - (4) Customer Fi NEO subs with (8) American Bass Elite 2800.1s Previous systems: 2000 Suburban - (4) BTL 15's and (4) IA 40.1's = 157.7 dB at 37 Hz. 1992 Astro Van - (6) BTL 15's and (6) IA 40.1's = 159.7 dB at 43 Hz.
