bighossf150 Posted April 23, 2013 Author Report Posted April 23, 2013 Well I fired the truck up with the alt touching the intake and it wasnt even charging so I threw the stock alt back on this morning and its working fine. IDK whats going on with it but another alt isnt in my budget right now. My original budget for the rebuild was $4k and Im already in around $5500 on the rebuild and I still need to get an eq, batt charger, 50-100' of ofc 1/0 and possibly a new h/u since mine isnt sending out any voltage through the remote wire. I'll prolly just take a break from the truck for a few weeks then get back on it. bighossf150 Posted April 24, 2013 Author Report Posted April 24, 2013 While I'm waiting to hear back from singer anyone have any ideas of why the alt isnt charging? It bypasses the factory harness and uses a single wire that ties into an ignition hot wire to turn the alt off and on. I hooked that wire up to a relay that is turned on by the remote wire coming off the h/u, when that didnt work I tried jumping it directly off the batt and still nothing. bighossf150 Posted May 3, 2013 Author Report Posted May 3, 2013 I had to take a little break from the truck but Im about to get back on it, my AT 4ga should be here tomorrow and thats all I need to get it playing. With the alt issue Singer said it could be belt slip since I was still using a the stock belt so I bought a 1" shorter Gator Back belt and will try to get the alt working again on monday, if not I was looking at picking up a 250 amp Mechman to hold me over until I can afford a 370 amp DC.
