Still dipping!

Recommended Posts

If cables aren't hot and he's not popping fuses I don't think it's the cable, that may add resistance, but for his power level that cable will do. I had a 100A+ (Clamped, peak was 110A, avg. 90A+ full tilt) draw on Knu CCA 4ga when I had my TXA-1000D and had no issues with dimming with factory electrical (100A large case alt, everstart, Big 3).

I'm gonna hate

Even if his alt is less. You can't argue that switching to OFC pure copper opposed to aluminum and copper will yield worse results. Less resistance means better charging meaning less voltage drop. And as I stated before he should check his grounds first. I have a stock 90amp alt and run 3500 in bass and 1200 on highs rms and I never drop below 12.2 at idle. That is with stock batt and d5100. When I had CCA wiring I wa in the low 11s. I also added grounds to the engine. OFC is better than CCA you can't argue with that. So I still say check grounds. Then replace wire then replace stock bat. Oh and charge batts before any other change.

Ask ray about test info. He did all the tests

You can use CCA but t will just take more runs to get same result as OFC. Why not spend less on 1 run opposed to slightly more for 2 runs of CCA.

Team bassick

I'm sure ou can do 160s on CCA. That's cool story bro. I'm not saying op should change wiring right away but it should be on the list if other suggestions to the problem fail.

where is your math and current draw charts to show this proven to be true?

1 CCA is not that much less effective than straight copper wire

2 there is no such thing as (OFC) its just copper oxyegen free is a slaes plow was your copper manufacturied in a vacume sealed room??? i think not and if it was once cut and moved to packagaging it would not be OFC anymore now would it ?

3 I know and have had a car do over 160's with CCA

your argument is invalid

ill put money that he does not have 120 amp alt i dunno if i missed but if this is a honda they are notorius for there shitty charging systems

I'm on mobile in class right now but there are multiple tests and charts I can pull up for you later. Ray has done tests too. Ask him about it. Pure copper is much better than CCA. Your argument is invalid

lol really i have facts to back my comments up

2 runs of cca will kick the shit out of 1 run of your so call OFC 2 runs of CCA for the most part is still cheaper than 1 of ofc

i was being respectful but the fact is your talking out your ass on the wire ratings and giving false info

i would like you to prove my argument invalid cause i only see you talking out your ass here

cool story bro the ofc got you that huge score of a 146.1 shit i better run to the store now

Have you ever had your woofers blown?

Haha. Dude I never said 2 CCA is worse than 1 run OFC. It is about the same FYI. And cost is pretty much the same at least from knu it is.

Me talking out my ass? Where are your charts to prove your CCA is soo good. Your talking out your ass just the same if that is what you claim I'm doing. How bout you prove me wrong

2 CCA = 1 run OFC about in most cases of 15 feet or so.

And i never said my 146 is so good and that it is because of OFC. But I'm glad I convinced you:)

The KCA series 1/0 Black Cable offers improved flexibility over the 'KLMX' Series and a rugged PVC outer jacket that is impervious to grease and oil. The PVC outer jacket can with-stand the extreme temperatures (-40 to 105 C) and capable loads of 250A.* Price is per foot.(*per meter in UK)

Kolossus Fleks Kable 1/0 Translucent Black (Smoke) Power Wire features 5145 Tinned Strands of Pure Oxygen Free Copper and a new Ultra Flex Matte PVC Jacket. Our new jacket allows for improved flexibility and maintains exceptional resistance to abrasion, oil, and extreme temperatures (-40 to 105 C). Capable of loads over 300A.* This product can be used in Marine applications. Price is per one foot

*At 20 ft

Right from Knu's website. Make one 20' run of Kolossus carry as much current (at the same voltage) as two 20' runs of KCA 1/0 and I'll give you $100 PP.

I'm gonna hate

Note it says over 300amps. 2nd at 20 ft you can't carry that much. Both numbers are over rated. Now I am taking that info from ray. Please excuse me ray if I misunderstood you. But I believe this is true
