Lbox88
I would throw the yellow top away and put an xs power bat up front. I'm no expert, but just knowing that the more guts the battery has the better it can perform, optimas have a lot of hollow space with that 6 pack looking design. Just my opinion. And I also "heard" you shouldn't mix battery types. Mixing batteries isn't the worst thing you could do, but it is heavily frowned upon. The reason is, say you have a lead acid up front and a XS in back, the float voltage of the stocker up front wants to sit at 12.4V and thhe XS sits at 13.1V. The XS will slowly discharge into the stock to bring its voltage up and brings the XS down til they reach a point of equilibrium. Also, the two batteries have different modes of charging. It slowly reduces the life of the AGM batts, but by how much it damages that battery and shotens the lifespan I do not know. StoneCold455
I have around that power as well and my factory electrical handles it ok at 65AH bat and 140amp alt. I would like to see how that yellow top handles the power. hook a volt meter to it with the car on and film the readings.
cmegorm250
When I first got the yellow top, it read 13.1 but now that its 3 years old it reads 12.8. When the car is on my electrical jumps to 13.3. When full tilt it drops low 12s never down the 11 volts. But I'm afraid now cause I'm going down to .5 ohms. It's just going to rap my electrical. cmegorm250
Sorry typo I meant 14.3 when car is on.
Lbox88
LOL, Don't even try to do .5 ohm on that. Sounds like your YT is still in decent condition though. Quote UBL | Build Log

CJ18
Replace the yellow top with an XS of the same size under the hood and add a d3100 in the back. This will take care of your desire to run at .5 ohm and will leave room for your expansion plans later. When it comes to electrical, there is no such thing as overkill.
