That1Kid
Guys I need some ideas on how to mount my false floor to the floor of my vehicle. I was originally planning on using several L-Brackets; Screwing one side into the 2x4s and the other through the floor of the vehicle.... But the fuel tank is directly under the floor behind the B-Pillar. Would Liquid Nails, or some other adhesive, hold the 2x4s to the metal properly? That way I wouldn't have to drill through the floor.. The wall is roughly 20 cubes...so it's a good amount of weight that needs to be held down securely. Thanks guys -98' Ford Expedition (Rest in Peace) -AVH-P3300BT -Crescendo BC5500 -4 18" DC m2 Level 3.

mrd6
do you have the box anchored in other places as well? Pictures of the area you are working with could help. If you have it bolted to the body in a few other places, then using a construction adhesive for the front of the wall near the b-pillar should be fine. However, I would not rely on that as the only method to secure the wall the the vehicle. n8ball2013
pl construction adhesive. the wood would give way before the bond does. mrd6
You think that would be sufficient as the only bond nate? Granted, yes the wood would give way first but it is still just contained by the surface strength of the wood, a bolt through the wood and floor itself would be much stronger... n8ball2013
it depends on the install to be honest. strength wise yes. In my truck I could get away with that because you cant get the wall to move without a 36 inch breaker bar and if you dont pull it out perfectly straight its not coming out. if its an install that slides in and out easily id be hesitant. That1Kid
Thanks for the input guys. I'm gonna pick up some pl construction adhesive and a couple more cans of foam and try to find a safe place to run a bolt or 2. Hopefully I don't hit anything important. -98' Ford Expedition (Rest in Peace) -AVH-P3300BT -Crescendo BC5500 -4 18" DC m2 Level 3.
