TylerParrish Posted September 21, 2012 Author Report Posted September 21, 2012 Well I have a 4 channel and I'm only going to be running front speakers since fuck the people in the back seat, I'm guessing this being said, active would be louder for my purposes since I'd be getting the full output per speaker? RooTxBeeR Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 Ya if you are going to only have fronts, and already have a 4 channel, might as well go active. Just try and make sure that the amp puts out the RMS for each speaker, and I have not done this my self, but I have been told when asking this, tweeters do not take much power to get loud, so be careful when putting power to them so you don't 1) fry them and 2) kill your ears lol. Jessica Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 ^^ i agree with rootbeer. When i switched to active it was because my tweets were too harsh. So after going active i played only my tweets after i set my gains and found they only needed half to 2/3 the gain that my mids needed. I also found my tweets washed out on some freq so i adjust some e.q. settings and xover points and now it's like a whole different sound. Much cleaner and crisper. TylerParrish Posted September 21, 2012 Author Report Posted September 21, 2012 I'll try to get some lower wattage tweeters, I don't like my music super super loud, there could be mom's with their kids with their windows rolled down on a nice day, and lets face it....they don't need to be listenin to "pussy this, or ni**a that" not yet anyways. Just want a decent sounding front stage to compliments subs once i get new ones. finkster Posted September 21, 2012 Report Posted September 21, 2012 If you're going to go active, make sure you set the HPF for the tweeters correctly. Very easy to blow them from too much midbass/over extention. DAT 4125------>RE XXX comps active Eclipse cd7000 I serve drunks for a living

RooTxBeeR Posted September 22, 2012 Report Posted September 22, 2012 Lol, why in the hell would you wire a CP amp to .5, they are made to combat impedance rise... Good job voiding that warranty. TylerParrish Posted September 22, 2012 Author Report Posted September 22, 2012 Yea 2 alpine type r dual 2s. u should listen to the people around here. No need to ask for people's advice if you're gonna do something bad and then do it anyways since u didn't get the right answer, not tryin to be an ass, but that's pretty pointless and once u get into bigger and better things, you will have bigger and better problems.
