Purplehaze
Great job and what other plans you have besides the system of course Thanks man! Well, to start with, new wheels and tires, probably 18's with a 50 series tire, or something close. Some HID's, and aftermarket taillights after that, and then she is talking about having it painted/ color changed to black. But that's still up in the air. But I am gonna re-paint all the plastic trim on the outside black, to freshen it up. And I'd REALLY like to do away with the front torsion bar setup, and put in a nice set of coil-overs. But that will be later, for now I've got to go completely thru the truck just changing stuff and cleaning and painting. Honestly, it's all gonna be up to her, I'm just here to to do all the dirty work! Thanks man. Yeah I've had a couple of black vehicles, they are really hard to keep clean. I wouldn't paint it black if it were up to me, I'd leave it red, I kinda like it. But it's up to her, I'm just along for the ride! damn dude, I bet that thing is gonna run like new when you're done with it! looking forward to the audio build! Thanks, I sure hope so! I'm taking my time, going thru every single part on this thing, so it should be good to go! Good stuff man. Keep up the good work & pics. I'm tuned in Thank you sir, I appreciate it! Nice man! Yeah, I was thinking about your Ford when I started working on this one! And your right, little victories are sometimes the biggest! Although I'll consider the whole thing a victory when I'm handing her the keys, and getting my car back! Also, I got more parts coming in today, so I should have more updates soon! dereileak
So up next is the brakes. Pretty much all 4 wheels needed replaced. So I stripped off all the old rusty parts, ordered all new ones, and got started cleaning out the rust and refurbishing the stuff to be re-used. Broken stabilizer link, ordered a new kit Brakes were totally seized - ordered all new pads, rotors, calipers, and hardware! What a mess! Also had to order new shoes and hardware for the parking brake... and I thought I wouldn't have to mess with any drum setup... yeah right! The vent box for the gas tank... may have a tiny bit of rust... So while I was pullin' parts, I decided that the tow hitch needs to go. At least for now. Restored the front sway bar I also painted the shocks as soon as they came in And the parts finally started coming in Now to paint the new calipers So here is how those front wheel wells are coming along And that is where I am at the moment. I am starting on the back today, gotta sand and paint the rear-end, and rear suspension. Then it's the fun of disassembling the park brakes and pulling the axles from the case. I got new wheel seals and a new cover, so I want to make the back look as good as the front. I should finish that all up this week, then it's on to the engine and transmission. Which by the way, I really don't think is bad. It has a bad front seal, I think if I change that, along with the fluid and filter, it will be fine. We shall see. Anyway, thanks for looking, more to come soon!!! damn it looks like new 2006 Mazda3 Hatchback Black 5 Spd ManualPioneer 4300DVD2 Sundown SA-12 (34hz Tune, 3.22 cubes, 14.5 inches per cube, Triple Baffle)Kicker 10ZX2500.1 (2845 RMS) Sub AmpKicker 11ZX650.4 (705 RMS) Mid Amp -- (3 Amps)Kicker KQ3 Active CrossoverKicker KQ30 EqualizerKicker 09QS60.2 Components (Woven Carbon Cones)Kicker 09QS65.2 Components (Woven Carbon Cones) - (3 Sets)2/0 Gauge Electron Beam Technologies (3 Runs, 2 +, 1 -) 1/0 Gauge KNU Kollasal Flex (1 Run for -) 300 Ft Kicker X-Series 16 Gauge Speaker WireXS Power D3400 (Rear)XS Power D3100 (Front)Singer Externally Regulated Alternator (Being Built)+ The Love for Car Audio and BASS <3UBL Build Log <------- Click Here-------> Normal Build Log (For Comments)
