it has been said by some that a well set up rear fill can widen the imagery, but that it is a fine line between widening and pulling back. but kandiman is asking the most important question here, is this suposed to be a real sq car, or a car that is loud, and sounds clear. because the difference is huge

Sounding clear is viewing all of the picture, Sound Quality is being inside experiencing the picture from how I see it.

Super tweeters in my opinion need planning, proper eqing, cross-overing, and installation but they can have good sound quality if you know what you're doing.

Using Class AB amps is a personal preference, though I did hear great setups utilizing Class D amps only

Rearfill from what I've heard add's dimension when done correctly, but you still need to have the front stage be dominant.

Yes, I'm sure if you know what you're doing, you can assign the 6x9's to do what you need it to do in creating an image and achieve great results, but since the OP seems like a beginner, I wanted to help point him in a safe direction cause most the of the time, round speakers sound better than oval speakers.

I'm not saying a round Sony speaker will sound better than a Hertz 6x9, actually the Hertz would probably make the Sony a joke.

not to thread jack but, how do u adjust for time alignment and whats the best xover points for tweet hp, mid hp, and mid lp? i got mine set to 80htz hpf on mid, 8khtz on mid lpf, and 8khtz on tweet hpf on a set of polk db 6500 comps on a rf punch 450.4 rf amps are beast, but how do i get more "vocal" output to go with the musical sound?

it takes alot to get sq, usally sq is trying to reproduce the full spectrium from 20htz to 20khtz as clearly as possable and still maintain imaging as i have no imaging as it is lol everything is in stock locations ecept tweets witch are on sail panels

The reason you don't do real fill is so your ear doesn't pull away from the soundstage.

Look, it's hard to explain. It's why those of us who have been around say to go to a show, hear some real SQ cars then have an opinion. SQ is an emotion. It is how YOU react with the system. It's not only about a technical sound placement across the dash. It isn't about just sounding good, or clear. It is a true connection to the music being played. When you get the hairs to stand up on the back of your neck about how the music reacts with you, then you will know SQ. When it is that good, all speakers are felt, not heard. It took me a good long time to understand why everytime my truck was judged that they didn't want to hear the subs. I took that info as they didn't like bass. When it wasn't the case at all. you want to feel the low end of the music material.

The objective of true sq is to have perfect front staging thats all aligned and imaged correctly. Why in the hell would you put rear fill in that will totally pull the imagery off the dash and towards the rear of the car?

If true sq isnt what you are looking for, please stop using the term incorrectly and state you are wanting a clean precise sounding mids and highs set up.

Ahhh come on now bro. Your talking to the same group that thinks super tweeters are SQ. Or the same ones who think "sounding clear as loud as you can" as SQ. There is NO WAY 6x9's or class D amps can be in a competition level SQ car, nor win a world finals.

It's better to just skim over these threads then it is to bang yer head on the keyboard @ all the fail opinions about SQ, Can't tell the "don't knows" that they need to spend some real time at SQ events to have a clear understanding of what real SQ is.

So the alpine pdx amps gary summers was running were no class D? And aubreys car didn't sound awsome with th 6x9s in the front stage?

I did feel that way when I heard Cablguy's truck, I didn't hear the speakers play Pink Floyd, I heard Pink Floyd instead right in front of me. It's an experience that can't be recorded or watched on video, you have to experience it yourself.
