you are right on the setting the master amp. But if you get one amp you have less wire you have to deal with in the end. Less power/ground runs less rca's all the fun stuff.

damn that would suck haha. thanks for the help with that, i might just save up money and buy everything at once and still look for good deals so i can save a little money, and thanks keith, and yeah that's true.. haha running wires is a pain, not that it's hard its just time consuming and then hiding all of them and what not isint so easy for my vehicle.

And you get a sexy big azz amp with less space required than two.and in a single cab space is gonna suck. and look for a head unit with 4v preouts a lot of the lower end ones still have 2v.

yeah tell me about it haha, ive been wondering where i can put the amps without them overheating because they're not getting enough air.. i was thinking about putting them beside the box like building a amp rack next to the back, i can go up 25 inches so you could still see both of the amps, not all the way for the one in the back, but some of it.

With two XL's I'd personally do a highs amp. So if you do want to do the amp rack then you can have the sub amp and highs amp on display Drowning out your highs is okay for a little, then you just begin wanting them anyway.

Figure out what you want to spend first. If you are making minimum wage, you might want to think of something within your means. Maybe $1500 total.

Judging by your name, Assuming your truck is a regular cab f150, I'd get:

2 10s and throw them on 1000-1500 watts in a ported box..

1/0 wire including enough for big 3.

75-100 watt x 4 highs amp.

A ~$150 6.5" component set.

Maybe grab a green top interstate battery for under the hood to level out your voltage a little.

Then down the road, after you have built and tried several boxes, grab 50-80 sq feet of deadened and see what you can do with it.

If you have to ask where to start, start small. Learn. Work your way up.

thanks blacked for the help, ive gone through 2 setups already and left everything stock eletrical wise, besides big 3 for stock alternator, battery.

i had 2 kenwood tornado 10s in a sealed box, and that wasent anything.. i couldent even hear the bass outside of my truck.

i was just tryin to get some input on what to do, i have it all planned out in my head just lookin for some help with everything. but i do appreiciate you helpin me and everything

Tornado 10s are bottom of the line 10s. Maybe 200-300 watt power handling.

Not in a ported box, output is going to be pretty weak.
