ice77
Hi guys, I´m new on this forum, so let me say a few words to my person.... I live in germany and I´m so interested in music/BASS... and all the things which belog to this :-). I had 2x JBL GTI 1200 mounted in my Mercedes Class E for 9-10 years... and now I want MOOOORE. I bought 2 TRF 2212 and now I´m searching the right enclosure for building an case for them. Here you see one TRF and one 12" GTI . The GTIs were mounted free air in the trunk of my mercedes . So now I have 2 12" wholes, where the TRF could blow the bass into the car. The subwoofer are 2 digiamps: UDimension Pro X 2k - having the same platine layout as the Spl Dynamics Ext 2000. So I could get 2000Watt rms @1 ohms from each amp. If I could drive them @0,7 ohms ( TRF 2212 DVC 1,4 ohms)... I could really get nearely 2000 watt rms for each sub... otherwise it will be less than 2kw My batterie is an Northstar NSB 90 Here are a few pics... when I installed the cables... http://home.arcor.de/ice77/car/ So now you have an little opinion on what we are talking about :-) What do you think... is now the next step to do ... regarding the enclosure of the box? hope to hear you soon Fabio

ice77
yes I was already told that they were not designed for listening music... but other guys listen music with them... and they tell that it isnt so bad as RF always tells us but there has to be a way to let them sound good ... not how I don´t know... an old stroker or somthing similar.. I want an hard bass... and an loud bass... so that I will now get what the last 10 years I could not do with the JBLs... I wanted only an high performance bass... and I think theese are very high performance subwoofers :-)

But now there has to be a chance to build an box fot the TRF to listen music with... damn =V^ I have this new subs now ... and have to find the way to use them for music... hope with the help of this forum! meade916
i might as well tell you that YES you can use them for music. They were designed for SPL just like an RE MT is but you can CERTAINLY use it for music with great results. Now if you dont have the power to get it moving it may not make you happy because it needs to be brutalized not pampered. If you plan on destroying the block it will work great. If your planning on not playing it that loud it may not be the choice for you. I would START with 2000 - 2500 watts on each one myself........any less and your wasting your time IMO. ice77
hy meade, nice to hear you. I have one Northstar NSB 90 batterie... and tomorrow i will buy another NSB 90 FT, so I think that I have enough power to feed the amps. My car is an Mercedes Diesel, so I think it produces also a lot of power... that should be enough. Here is my batterie and theese are the amps: This amps... I hope will hold 0,7 Ohms... (TRF 2212 DVC 1,4 ohms) - so they will produce I think nearely 2kw RMS. This are UDimension Pro X 2K - same as the Spl Dynamics Ext 2000... digital Monoblocks. If they hold... the TRF will be given enough power I think... for listening music... this should be enough :-) I had an Idea... what do you think about it: whats about taking a piece of multiplex 2-3", and placing the TRF here in this wholes. than i would remove the cassis on the left and right side and place the ports there. Than under the Subs I would build an case (an removable box) and so I would have an bass reflex case... Are this volumina ok for the case to put in both trf: 5 cubes of volume and 60 square of port. (german: 141 liters, 387cm² of port = 2x diameter of 16cm). The length I still don´t know... I have no idea to what frequency to tune the box... and so how long the ports have to be. meade... what do you think about my idea :-) hope to hear you soon...guys! emperorjj1
your going to build a box right? not free air it J. JMy CardomainFINISHED COBALT SS/SC DUAL ALTERNATOR PICS theres no such thing as too expensive when it comes to upgrades like that, because imo if you are gonna spend to upgrade then do it correctly rather then be a cheap ass ricer
ice77
certainly... a box I think with 5 cubes and 60 squares of port.. if no one here tells me something better :-)
audiobass10
Have you upgraded your alt yet? Those batts alone are not going to keep voltage where it needs to be to feed those subs much power..
