cashmoney229 Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 How Accurate Is The Ohms Law Formula When I Comes To Setting The Amp Gains With A Multimeter? Wouldnt It Just Be Better To Use The DD-1 To Set The Gains Instead Of Using The Ohms Law- Voltage = the Square Root Of Power x Resistence 2011 Impala pioneer headunit rockford fosgate rca's audio control three.2 rockford fosgates T165&T1692 2 re audio sxx 15's hifonics brz24001.d crunch 1400.4 audio technix 10ga speaker wire & 0 ga power n ground

NT_Hardcore Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 its a good starting point. iv never seen anyone not exceed the value tho.

SnowDrifter Posted September 25, 2012 Report Posted September 25, 2012 Better than nothing, but not terribly accurate either. What you could do (not particularly kind to the amp) is turn your gain all the way up, play a square wave, measure the ac volts value, divide that by the square root of 2, play a some wave of the same frequency, then adjust the gain until it reads as close as possible to the calculated voltage. Its essentially finding your peak to peak voltage and converting that to rms(sine wave) voltage ~~~~~~~~SAY NO TO PHOTOBUCKET~~~~~~~~ Snow's DD-1 tracks here: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/167433-snows-dd-1-tracks/ My take on OFC vs CCA: https://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/110381-things-that-piss-you-off-in-the-car-audio-world/?do=findComment&comment=2461444
