Eddie Long Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 So, I am building a T-line box for 3 SSA DCON 12's. The DCONs are rated at 300 rms. I have heard that in tline boxes you don't need as many watts because there is a greater chance of damaging the sub..... So, my question is...... If the DCONs are rated at 300 rms, should I run them at 300 each or should I use less watts ? If I do need to use less then what would you suggest ? Thanks
Sergeant_Skyrim Posted September 26, 2012 Report Posted September 26, 2012 What you need to worry about with Tline boxes is the mechanical limit of the sub. It's comparable to free-airing the sub, meaning that there isn't really any back pressure to control cone movement. Basically a game of figuring out how much you can turn it up without bottoming out and going past the xmax. If anybody else reads this, did I get it right? Build in progress
Eddie Long Posted September 26, 2012 Author Report Posted September 26, 2012 So, not really any formula to it....it is more just learning what the sub is capable of in the box ?.......will start at 200 rms each and go up from there and see how the subs react.....thanks for the help Chris

That box must be like a fucking huge lol. Got any pictures of that monster? lol....yea, it's pretty big. the line is 10.1 feet long. the box measures 21" tall x 38.75" wide x 39.5" deep. Don't have any pictures yet. It will be a dual fold off axis box. Subs firing up and port back. Will post some pics when I get a build log going on here
