Twostrokeking Posted October 17, 2012 Report Posted October 17, 2012 I have a few questions actually. When I competed in Bass Race this last summer i was told I peaked at 43 hz. What does this mean? My system is loudest at 43 hz.? My box should have been tuned to 43 hz? So there's number 1. Number 2. I can play practically any song I want with the windows down and it sounds great and I can shake the shit out of the truck. But with the windows up I can't get low at all and the bass sounds really dry if that makes sense. It doesn't really sound good at all. Winter is coming so I'll have to drive with my windows up because my friend is a vagina and wont sacrifice his warmth for bass. Why is it louder with the windows down? I remember it was something about it acting like a 4th order but I sat in a durango with 2 15's and it was actually louder with the windows up. What changes this? And finally number 3.. there is this kid at my school whos friends dad works for fosgate. He got 2 12" P1's in a sealed prefab box for about 100 bucks. Well I can hear this kid from a decent distance. I sat in it and I dont want to sound cocky but It didnt hit the lows and just wasn't loud enough for me. But why can I hear him from such a distance?? What BASS frequency is most audible to the ear because I know he isnt hitting the lows. Thanks guys!
