I really wouldnt have done an 18 in there but whatever. and the 1000rms is perfectly fine for a level 4 subwoofer. Its hilarious coming on here everyday and reading some of the suggestions with no basis whatsoever. How his is braced it should be fine, hes not running some monster sub its a middle of the road realistically a 1000rms subwoofer... nowhere did he say anything about an m2 its a tfs cone which even if the coil has more thermal ability isnt going to matter when hes rocking an amp thats going to give him maybe a whopping 800rms after rise.

This is what I was looking to see. It is an m1 and I wouldnt prefer an 18 either but like I said I got it basically under $50. And I spoke to a rep at DC Audio and he that said its reccommended power is 1000 rms and he reccommended 5.5 cubes but a smaller box would just make it less boomy. Also, I am not competing just looking to add some bump to my trunk

IT IS A M1, which is 1000rms. not to mention the m1 XLs are rated at 1500rms. Thermally you are probably good for about 2krms(roundwire instead of flat). so if it isnt loud enough in a smaller box, either up the power or recone it to a 15.
