over excursion? he was probably slamming full tilt under tuning. how far under? cant tell for sure, but im thinking it was enough to make the coil leave the gap and stretch the fuck out of the leads.

Like I said, I think it was from over excursion. But the box is built to spec. The tuning freq is 35hz. I set the subsonic filter at 30hz, and the amp is a BRZ1200.1.

It's not too big of a deal. It's warrantied. But, I was curious what all of you thought it was that caused it was.

Over excursion happens when the sub is being played below tuning. The sub can only move so far within its parameters in the set tuning range. It starts to get out of control when you play below tuning of Fs on the sub and the coil comes out of the magnetic gap. If the leads aren't burnt, below tuning had to have happened I'd say.
