CleanSierra
Playing below tuning? Better the leads than jumping the gap and fucking the coil up Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
Guest
over excursion? he was probably slamming full tilt under tuning. how far under? cant tell for sure, but im thinking it was enough to make the coil leave the gap and stretch the fuck out of the leads. EricM9104
playing below tuning, too much power in a improper box. 2015 Honda Civic LX 4dr | 24k miles Stock H/U and mids/highs Power Acoustik GW3-12" D2 Sub HiFonics BXX1200.1D @ 1ohm Random 2.5^3' dual ported box NVX LOC Stinger wiring throughout 1977 Chevy SWB Cammed 350 Dual exhaust Cheap Wish stereo
CleanSierra
Have you pushed down on the cone with your hand to see if the coil scrapes? If it was enough to pull the leads, it was enough to jump the gap and HOPEFULLY it landed back in the gap in alignment. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. weshole
Like I said, I think it was from over excursion. But the box is built to spec. The tuning freq is 35hz. I set the subsonic filter at 30hz, and the amp is a BRZ1200.1. It's not too big of a deal. It's warrantied. But, I was curious what all of you thought it was that caused it was. weshole
No burn marks, no scraping, and I can see the v/c partially through the openings in the side of the basket and it looks beautiful.
n8ball2013
what woofer is it? dont be surprised if they deny a warranty claim on it to be honest THERE IS NO BUILD LOG! 1998 Chevy Silverado ext cab Alpine CDA-9887 4 Team Fi 15s 2 Ampere Audio TFE 8.0 2 Ampere Audio 150.4 3 Digital Designs CS6.5 component sets Dual Mechman 370XP Elite alternators inbound! 8 XS Power d3400 6 XS power d680 Second Skin Stinger Tsunami Wiring Sky High A Real Voltmeter not a piece of shit stinger. CleanSierra
Over excursion happens when the sub is being played below tuning. The sub can only move so far within its parameters in the set tuning range. It starts to get out of control when you play below tuning of Fs on the sub and the coil comes out of the magnetic gap. If the leads aren't burnt, below tuning had to have happened I'd say. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
