sierra mist
I have been trying to mimic the youtube vids. Looks like most folk find the max HU volume with the HU.
matt14
Yea, I would double check with the 1khz 0db tone on your full range to start eliminating things. You had said you can use the RCA's, so use those to check max volume. You need to check the head unit output with both the 40 and 1khz 0db tones. Also is there a level volume for your ipod in the head unit settings? Turn that off as well or all the way down. sierra mist
This is the pic of the HU sub xover. When I press the flat button, it goes back to 80hz.
matt14
Go back to your sub menu and turn the filter all the way up. The EQ should be seperate and turn that to flat. Also i looked at your headunit on sonic and it states you also have a high pass. Turn that all the way up or down ( cant remember, but just read the manual from the DD1 and it will tell you) bass boost off on the deck. You may have to turn your sub level all the way up on the deck. Make sure you dont have a volume level for the ipod. If you do, turn that down. JR2011bu
I would just measure the distortion level on deck alone first... instead of trying to do it through your amp man.. Have you already tried this??? sierra mist
Got it folks! I have to same feeling as when I first learned to solder. I keep all of my settings on flat. The change came on the HUs xover. I set the front and sub to 200hz(that is as high as it would go). My headunit does not distort at the max volume of 35. sierra mist
what happens if you move the positive probe of the dd-1 to the other terminal? I think I got it now. Here are a couple of pics from when I did the mids/highs amp.

Looks like there are several ways it can be done. I'm sure I will run the sub level over 0 at some point.
Swordlordboy1234
Some decks only reach their 4 v output if you turn the sub level up. Might wanna look into that.
