scratchy
I know caps are bad, so dont shoot/flame me. I was just wondering.. Supposudlly(sp) caps help keep the current flow steady, right? Now, when I do a 3 burp(I have no caps connected as I dont believe in them) with the engine off, my voltage drops too 7-8 v. Wouldnt a cap help even the slightest. My understanding is that caps cant discharge quick enough for spl, but shouldnt it help just at the least. BTW...I have a MA Cap lying around somewhere that I scored dirt cheap from a pal. Quote then im rambo bitch
meade916
with the car off i would say its even WORSE....caps have there place and arent always bad but if your burping with the car off i would say 100% i wouldnt waste your time. Maybe with music and the car running, with enough capacitance, you can smooth out some peaks and dips and maybe keep the lights from blinking but car off, burping SPL style, i say dont do it. Ive done the big 3(ok, ok big 2 as I cant find the positive terminal on my hyundais alt) and Ive got 4 gauge going too the amp(will prob try get my hands on some more 4gauge so I can have about 5 more runs back too the amp) Im running stock alt and battery due too warranty on the car BTW, I use 4 gauge because we dont have 1/0 gauge in Namibia. kingsuv
If you need more power then add a battery. With enough runs of 4 gauage you will be fine. Make sure you fuse it and run it close to the amp. Caps are fine for some cases but for all out more power your going to need more batteries. Quote Designing, building, and shipping boxes. I mean the first minute is ok but that thing just really starts digging deeper and deeper in your earhole till you cant stand it no more. Seems like it does it with relative ease....16 12's on 8 amps.........gotta love it.
