Jessica
Sorry to inform you, but the only way you could really get 2x100 and 1x1000 is with two amps. Any options even close are going to be too much power for the components and not even close to 1,000 watts for the subwoofers. This is probably the closest you'll be able to get, 140x2 @ 4 ohms for the components, channels 3&4 bridged for 600watts at 4 ohms. Might be able to run at 2 ohms bridged, but I personally wouldn't recommend it. http://store.soundso...-amplifier.html This, Most 4 channel amps won't run 2ohm when bridged. BobbyG2
Why is it that you don't want to do a bi-amp system? I personally would do two amps. Here's a good suggestion: 2 channel (RF Punch 300.2) - http://www.wooferset...-amplifier.aspx Mono (AQ 750.1) - http://www.audioque....ifier_p_46.html Wire the subs to 1 ohm ^ That comes out to $400. And if footprint was a concern, both of those amps are pretty compact. *New vehicle and system coming soon.*
Sutliff
In reference to the OP of mine: I just learned what a "vs." thread is ... did not know they were a no-no, per se. So I will not do that again. Apologies. I am not going to be maxing out these subs, I have no need to slam 500W+ per at therm. I know, ... the first person on SMD who is not looking to slam their FI's the first time they get them. 250-350W/ sub will suffice ... alongside 125 or so each component. As far as the Kicker 5-channel, I have a ZX550.3 right now (the first one they came out with - 2005), & I know that is not enough to power the FI's, so that is why I am looking to sell that for a little something, & get into, what I was hoping, going to be another simple 1-amp system. That's all. For those numbers, could I do a bi-amp setup for about $400, along with staying with the same manufacturer? severancej
Dang your still undecided on this? I couldn't see myself finding a two our for channel AND a mono block NEW for $400. Maybe...used...? My suggestion still stands at a rockford fosgate T600-2 and T500-1BDcp.. In an effort to save a little you could step down to the P series amplifiers, they are still very very nice products. Sutliff
- Yeah, just call me Uncle Undecided, ... And fortunately I am in no hurry to make a decision. I litterally have iunti March 1st when I will get the car back out of storage, & start with the semi-rebuild. Therefore, in the meanwhile, I want to learn as much as possible, - above & beyond what already know -& make a solid decision. That may be next week, or February 27th. Either way, I do really appreciate the feedback here, & even those of you who have returned to check in. With the above idea of a couple RF Power amp, if, for $$$ reasons, I was going to drop down to a Punch amp for one, would I be better off dropping to the Punch for the components or the subs? I think you folks are going to say components. severancej
I have the T500-1 and P400-4 and I have no complaints. Heck, you could run both punch amps and never think twice because they do sound great honestly. They have several models to chose from also, so you can choose wattage you need. Just me though....I'm not a believer in cheaper amplifier lines, I have no bad experiences just a hard head that thinks you get what yu pay for. 98' dodge ram 140A alt Big 3 XS D2700 JVC kd-r310 Rockford T500-1BDCP 2 Sundown E12 Ported 4cubes 35hz Rockford P400-4 2 Infinity reference 3way 6x9 2 Polk DB 5 1/4 2x layer dynamat all doors
