MickyMcD - "Capable of making some serious trouser flapping volumes at where's-my-testicles frequencies, the Servo-Drives used to be fairly jaw dropping..." Any time you have have a power wire next to your frame put some rubber hosing (or cut up an innertube) around it. The wire is bound to wiggle (due to driving or flex) and the casing will eventually wear through. Hammerdown... 1% no links to outside websites, business related FB/YT pages allowed. Jessica Posted November 24, 2012 Report Share Posted November 24, 2012 I could see setting gains without speakers hooked up being a problem with a tube type amp, but i think the better ones have open circuit protection. O.p. did you dead short the terminals by accident? Also, When you where setting gains did you start out with the speakers hooked up then unhooked them? 8ight Posted November 28, 2012 Report Share Posted November 28, 2012 If there was no sub connected the amp may have seen the DMM as a load and the open circuit protection may have acted incorrectly.
