Amart88 Posted March 1, 2014 Report Posted March 1, 2014 Aww... man that sucks. Were the amps on the whole time? If they were still working afterwards, don't turn them on AT ALL. unhook them and let them dry out. Water only really hurts that stuff when there is power running through it. Hope all works out. n8ball2013 Posted March 1, 2014 Report Posted March 1, 2014 were you beating on it during the rain? I cant do that. I get water all over my interior because the doors flex and break the seal. I bet your trunk is doing the same thing. scooter99 Posted March 1, 2014 Author Report Posted March 1, 2014 I have absolutely no trunk flex, even with it not being sealed off. I've check it, and kyle can attest to it. But, that's not it. I did some tests on it just now, and it's not coming through the trunk seal at all. I'm assuming that has something to do with the fact that the damn trunk lid is so freaking heavy that it makes a complete seal. No, it appears to be coming from where the vents used to be on the sides. Live and learn moment again. Thankfully the amps wren't actually in the water, they're sitting up about a 1/4" off the rack. I can fix it this weekend. Just seems to be one thing after another with this car though. Getting old. I should have all day tomorrow to change the belt and routing, fix this, and now I have to figure something out on the passenger side battery rack cause the threaded insert came loose. So the battery rack is loose. That's not good either. I'll tell you this though, I a huge smile on my face on the way home. I had it up, and every time the bass would drop, my wipers would skip across the windshield. I found it pretty funny. Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
n8ball2013 Posted March 1, 2014 Report Posted March 1, 2014 Welcome to going big. Did you deaden over the vents. It could also be your taillights too. I have an buddy with a civic but an ealrier model and he gets water in the taillights from the beat. scooter99 Posted March 1, 2014 Author Report Posted March 1, 2014 No. I'll get all that done this weekend. I'll go over the tail lights too. Hopefully that will get it handled. I was going to seal it off this weekend too. Guess that's gonna have to wait now. Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build

mtopper Posted March 1, 2014 Report Posted March 1, 2014 does your civic has a sunroof vent tube? i know a lot of the gm vehicles tube went into the trunk and then out through the trunk. other than the leak, the car looks great man. really impressive work 2013 Ford F250 CCLB XLT Bone stock work truck for now
scooter99 Posted March 1, 2014 Author Report Posted March 1, 2014 I have no idea what a sunroof vent tube is. It might. There are two rubber tubes that vent out to the rear wheel wells, or somewhere around there. But this was me. I'll have it fixed up today, and then head over to the carwash and see. I have a few things going on today. I'm going to change the belt back to the old routing and a slightly smaller belt, got to put some new muffler hangers on, fix up the vents, and then if I have time, which I doubt I will, try and get those actuators to work on the trunk. Work isn't so happy. Maybe tomorrow I can get the rear deck all sealed up. Wish I could seal up around the enclosure, but until I get the actuator thing figured out, I can do it. Lots of little details to do still. Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
n8ball2013 Posted March 1, 2014 Report Posted March 1, 2014 You're in the home stretch. Suck it up butter cup and take care of all.these little things. scooter99 Posted March 2, 2014 Author Report Posted March 2, 2014 Car is fixed! We're back in business!! Changed the belt, back to original routing with full alt belt wrap, check. Battery light off, check. Engine shutter gone, check!! New muffler hangers to stop the muffler from hitting the springs and vibrate so much, check. Seal up the trunk vents to stop water from leaking in! CHECK!! Car runs sooo much smoother!! I can't wait to get out and drive it!! After sitting in it in the back yard, and playing it a bit but not too loud, I had no battery light at all after 20 minutes, and the voltage on the VM-1 wasn't jumping like it was before. The idle is about 100rpm higher, and it's running very very smooth just sitting there. OH and, btw, I just wrote the last check to pay it off! $331.52. This biotch is MINE NOW!!! Well as soon as I get the title it's mine! LOL Ok I have to go take some nyquil now. I think I made myself sicker being out in the wind and cold for the last 5 hours. Oh well it was worth it.
