scooter99 Posted November 16, 2013 Author Report Posted November 16, 2013 With the floor up and running and ready to go in, it's time to start on some trim panels. So I got the 3500 out, and now we're gonna make a template to go around it. First, we need to protect it though. Don't want to scratch the top or anything else for that matter. Little blue painters tape will do the job. Measured out a 1" rim around it, and flipped it upside down. Not sure if this is exactly how you do it, but hey, I'm learning as I go and this seems like the most logical way to me. Little measuring around the back side and it's a rectangle with a border and almost a template. I wasn't really fond of the hard corners though so I decided that the top off the paint primer can looked like a good fit to the size. So I grabbed it and rounded off some corners. I think that looks pretty good and balanced. I took it outside and cut the outside of it with the jigsaw, and then it dawned on me it was about 8:30 and it was a little late to use the power tools. So I decided to knock off for the night. Tomorrow I'll be back at it and we'll get this moving some more. So that's it for tonight. There's oh so much more to come. I'm rollin now. New ideas, based off these ideas, and if you all know me, sometimes it takes doing something and having to redo it to get it right. And quite frankly, I'm ok with that. Because in the end, It's going to be welllllll worth it! I know for me, I'm learning a ton! This is what I like to call fly by the seat of my pants installing! Enjoy the ride!! scooter99 Posted November 16, 2013 Author Report Posted November 16, 2013 Ok guys, I ordered a threaded insert tool and some threaded inserts. But unfortunately the inserts won't be here until between November 21st and 26th. So things may have to roll in a different direction until then. We'll see. Maybe I can get working on the battery rack or something until that stuff get's here. More to come soon! Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build

scooter99 Posted November 16, 2013 Author Report Posted November 16, 2013 Thanks guys. Just spent the last 2 hours sketching up the new design. DAMN! I LOVE IT! But it's gonna be a bit of a challenge. Still moving forward, it's just a "design alteration". LOL. Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
CleanSierra Posted November 16, 2013 Report Posted November 16, 2013 Man! I thought you went to bed hours ago haha. I'm glad you're plugging away at it. I'm tuned in to see what you've got planned, and I'm excited Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
scooter99 Posted November 16, 2013 Author Report Posted November 16, 2013 I was supposed to have. I was actually looking forward to sitting down and watching a little sports center and relaxing but my brain wouldn't shut off. SO I had to sit down here and do this, and that was at around 10:00. Well it's 1:00 now. But it's either do this, or lay in bed not being able to go to sleep cause it won't shut off. Now at least I'm really really tired, and I have something down on paper. I am really going now. Night all! Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
scooter99 Posted November 16, 2013 Author Report Posted November 16, 2013 This new enclosure design implements a plexi bottom floor, as well as a plexi back. This serves two purposes. One is for show, to see the sexy sub motors, because they absolutely deserve to be shown off. Also part of the show, is to see the amps through the floor of the enclosure. Just seemed like a cool "wow" factor. The second reason is, because after thinking and brainstorming with Dre (Ibleedmusik), who seemed to be on the same page as me this whole time, we decided I needed to be able to get to the amps somehow and before it would've only been by destroying the enclosure floor. I think this will work. Looking into the trunk, view. Ports not installed but 2 4" aero's at 15" long gives me a 34hz tune. Rear plexi panel off. Inner back frame out. Here is everything apart. See absolute access to the amp rack. Now the thought is to use weatherstripping to seal it all up and keep it air tight, but if someone else has a different suggestion, I'm all ears. Second is, I was thinking about a flocked finish, but I'm not sure if it will stand up to turbulence. Not that I"m going to be loud or anything. I'm hoping to at least hit a 115db. LOL Give me your thoughts!!! I'm all ears! Facebook Page: S99Creations 2006 F250 Lariat Build
basshead7890 Posted November 16, 2013 Report Posted November 16, 2013 I like it. Could the Inner back frame out be made out of plexi too and where were you thinking about having a flocked finish?
