The end result on a painted box is AT MINIMUM 75% DEPENDENT on the PREP work, and only 25% or less on the paint/painting process. Sand it as smooth as you can get it and sand out any seams b4 you spray the box. Ask some folks on painting tips if need be and you might save urself having to repaint it. Good luck. LSN2meBoom916
should i take all the screws out sand over the holes couter-sink them and then paint it after i sand the seams nice and smooth?Ummm no thats backwards. If you want it nice n smooth, you could take out the screws one side at a time, counter sink each screw a tiny bit, and after putting all the screws back in countersunk, then fill the heads/countersinks with "wood paste" which you can make with wood glue and sawdust. After that drys you can sand em nice and smooth and you'd never know the screws were there. Primer if you can but filling the screw heads and a good sand job will make the box look a LOT nicer. And as always any more Q's just fire away. (Read my sig..it's all truth) ive read your sig many times thats why i ask so much. umm when you did the build for the maxima how did you "glue" the chop mat to the box then resin and how did you cut it, i end up with loose strands everywhere. what if i dont counter sink the screws can i just wood paste over them? 2006 F-150 4 DC XL M2 18's Walled Daily Driver XS Power 4 DC 3.5kw Team DC Team S.P.L.
