JFleming Posted December 5, 2012 Report Posted December 5, 2012 "Thats her pussy so hey pussy play with pussy or play pussy." lol nah j/k ... really though i almost burnt up my 4 6 1/2's on my amp lol.. i just got through hooking the speakers to the amp.. set it... road down the road.... blasted it... sounded nice. freaking loud. got almost home and smelt coils burning LOL cheap dang speakers... well they didnt blow i cut the radio off n when i got back i cut the amp down some... should be aite... but anyways question being as follows the coils in a 3 way speaker gets hot just like a sub... does its "bass" part of the 3 way need to be bumpin decently to ... "cool" it.? probably a stupid question... never thought of it though.. if so ill put some more bump in it lol cuz i got the bass turned all way off on the amp, it bumps not hard tho at all... like i said they're cheap n it sounds wierd... cant hear it though when my actual sub is goin tho so i guess it dont matter if it sounds wierd? lol

My guess is that you're either sending a clipped signal to the speakers, or you're just overpowering them. What kind of amp are you running? 2002 Dodge Dakota 4.7 club cab - Sold 2004 Audi S4 Avant - Fi and Crescendo - Stock Bose System - http://www.stevemeadedesigns.com/board/topic/147725-2002-dodge-dakota-end-of-the-road/?hl=%202002%20%20dakota 136.4 Sealed @ 29hz 137.0 Drivers window open @ 26hz
