She also can count to 15 knows almost all her abcs and recognizes animals etc that most toddlers dont know yet. mainly because along with her books blocks and puzzles we play the games on the ipad iwth her. If used right its an incredible learning tool. If not it can be destructive. She also doesnt get free reign of it whenever she wants. Sheena Posted December 5, 2012 Report Share Posted December 5, 2012 Do books no longer get the job done? im not sure tyler.. i know my kids will read books because other kids read books for learning and not technical devices. its really all about what your children are exposed to. i myself was exposed to books, and the occasional kid had a game boy, or something cool that no other kid had and everyone would just play rather than learn. as long as the kid knows that the ipad is for learning, and not playing.. i think she will be fine.. although from 6-10 years old, kids are very very deceptive. if your kid was reading books, and doing as stellar as she is now, why change that? i know this probably isnt an easy decision for you and your wife, considering if you put her in this school, and her grades go to shit theres no turning back lol. but is it worth the risk? i'd say yes. i just hope she can focus on learning on the ipad rather than being side tracked that shes playing on a gaming device.
