I used heavy duty phillips head screws, They are called Multi-Mate premium all purpose screws, made by Buildex and I use the #10 2 1/2" long ones.( they have all diferent sizes) They are made to be used in wood / metal / or masonry, and they are tough! I did drill 1/8 inch pilot holes just to make the install a little easier. I bought these from my local Menards store, but you can get them at Home depot, Lowes, or just about any small hardware store (ACE,True Value ect.) there are 70 in a resealable plastic container, and run around $6 a box.
