rocketboy1000rr
I have had SMD subwoofers for around 3 years now and I have upgraded amps and builds over that time. I finally got the 6 18's in my tahoe last season and kicked ASS all around the midwest...but you know, it's NEVER enough. Sooo, I decided to build the wall (finally). I have 6 SMD 18's powered off of 4 DC 9k's. To keep it all runnin', I have 4 Mechman 270 alts, 14 XS power D3100's and 2 D3400's up front. Ton's of knuconceptz 1/0 and soon I will have either 5 sets of MTX High-end 6 1/2's or 8 - 8" pro audio midbass and super tweets in the door panels, those being powered off of 1 or 2 DC 175.4's. I have LOTS of work left to do on this, but I thought I would share some of the pics of the build. I will update this when I have more to show. This entire build was done in about 2 1/2 weeks and I got NO sleep over the ENTIRE build (almost got divorced . I usually design and build my systems by myself, but on this one there just wasn't enough time and luckly I the help of 2 great guys that I actually compete against, Chris Coggeshall and Matt Peterson (thanks again guys). I compete in MWSPL and this years finals was toward the end of October. This build was started October 1st, and I made it to finals (late as usual) on Friday night at around 10:15 pm. Sign up was noon to 10 pm, and it cost $50 extra if you get signed up late on Saturday morning. I am the current MWSPL Loud-n-Low national champ (average score over 20,25,30,35 Hz, Meter centered in the windshield) with an average score of 154.3 Db certified. I am also the current MWSPL Mayhem champ too, (peak score, meter centered in the windshield), 158.1 Db. I run Advanced 3 also and took 5th in this pro class, posted up 160 Db @ 43 Hz. I Actually built this monster to compete in the KAOS 2 class, this class is the ULTIMATE TEST for your system. the meter is placed in the center of the windshield and competitors crank up the music for a FULL 3 MINUTES...FULL TILT...NO STOPPING. The loudest average score over 3 minutes wins. Maybe 3 minutes doesn't sound like long...but trust me it is and most guys blow stuff up tryin' to keep there system goin' at full tilt for that long I finished second place in KAOS 2, only to a multiple time world champion and a hell of a nice guy, Bo Carriaga. I will update and share pics as I get them!! A few Videos :
