CJ18 Posted December 13, 2012 Report Share Posted December 13, 2012 The Level 5 coil wont fit the Level 4 motor. The Level 5 uses a 3.5" coil and the Level 4 uses a 3" coil. The upgrade you would want is the XL upgrade. This consist of the XL coil and an upgraded top spider. Both the Level 4 and XL both use an 8 Layer Flat Wound Coil. There are some small differences in the coil, but thermally they will both handle about the same amount of power. If you just wanted to upgrade the top spider to a dual leaded stiff instead of the single leaded medium, that can be done. Now 1 thing that you do get with the XL coil is the added option of the Dual .7 and Dual 1.4 coils along with the D1 and D2. The Level 4 only comes in a D1 and D2.
