Hikato
As much as I would enjoy going all out in this truck, I'm only doing a simple downfire system at the moment. I work out of this truck, so I don't really need anything crazy. But, of course, like most of us here, I am a basshead, so I do need a little more beat than the factory system can dish out! Starting off, I'll give a little intro on the truck. The truck is a 2012 F150 XLT Super Crew. It's a 4WD with the Offroad Package (3.73 gears w/ electronic locking rear axle) and the EcoBoost engine (3.5L V6, Twin Turbo w/ Direct Injection). It sits pretty level with a 2" leveling kit with 20"x9" chrome Ballistic Jester wheels and LT275/65R20 (34.5" x 11") Toyo Open Country M/Ts tires. I've done a few mods, such as 6000k low/high + fog HIDs, white LEDs inside (domes) and out (reverse, front blinkers, license plate and cargo), an Airaid Intake, 4" Heartthrob Exhaust (not bad for a V6, I promise!) and a 93 octane performance tune from Livernois Motorsports. Lets just say this V6 throws those 34.5" mud tires around like they're nothin! This it the truck a couple weeks after I got it. (had to murder out the windows! 8% on rear windows over factory privacy with 16% over front!) Running boards and 4x4 stickers removed. Necessary baptism, Louisiana style! Ecoboost badges removed, and this is how the truck sits today. 400+ HP/500+ ft/lb TQ + 20 MPG on 34" Mud Tires? Gotta love those turbos! Batman anyone? Now on to equipment! Head Unit: Pioneer AVH-P4400BH (retained use of factory SYNC system and steering wheel controls with necessary PAC adapters) Subs: 2x Sundown SD-2 10" (Dual 4) Enclosure: Prefab Sealed Downfire Enclosure (.8 cu ft each before subs) Subs Amp: Rockford Fosgate T1000-1bdCP Sub Amp Wiring: KnuKonceptz 4 Gauge/RCAs/Speaker Wiring The subs are currently in the truck powered by a temporary amp. The T1000, wiring and bass knob will be here at the beginning of next week. (Yes, it is killing me!) Until then, you guys have these pics to check out. The lovely Pioneer. Fresh out the box! Not the biggest and baddest subs, but I bet I get exactly what I want from these two! Mounting time! At the moment, I'm only adding the two 10s. I will upgrade the big 3 (already have the 1/0 to do so), but other than that, I need to increase my savings more, as I plan to buy some land and build a house next year, and the factory mids/highs aren't completely horrible. Income taxes may bring around more upgrades, though! At that time, I plan to add a T400-4 (maybe bigger) and some RF Power components, and either a under-seat subs/port forward enclosure or a rear center console enclosure. As I said, I'm going more for a quality setup, nothing extreme. I hope you guys enjoy, and as soon as I get the rest of my equipment, I'll be back for a second round! Torres
just got an '11 supercrew XLT myself, and i freakin LOVE it. no 4x4 tho but it's ok...with as much fun as it'd be, i wouldn't really need it that much. better to save on the MPG. i do love the raised/big tires look, but the big rim/lowered look as well. yours looks nice. any pics of the box installed? CleanSierra
I'm curious HOW much room is between the sub surround and the floor of truck? Im hoping the riser on the box is tall enough to allow the excursion. Can we get some installed pics? Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you. Hikato
I'll get some pics of the box in the truck. I'm fairly certain I'll probably have to pick the box up a little bit, because while they aren't sitting on the floor, they're VERY close, and I'm sure once that T1000 starts pushing them, they'll be meeting the carpet fairly often. Hikato
Thanks for the kind words everyone! I didn't post much earlier because I was still half asleep, but I did get pictures! Well, definitely going to have to pick the box up a little. The rear of the surround is sitting on the floor. One seat up. Like I said before, I work out of this truck, as you can see by my ticket book and hard hat on the other side. Seats down. Can also see the temporary Kenwood amp, haha. The surrounds are touchin the ground. I'll have this fixed later today, though! I like it. Looks clean. Nicely done. And gettin 20mpg? Damn??!?!!?... No complaints there!.. I get 20 mpg if I use the cruise control (which I never do). I usually keep my foot into it (with all the power this thing has, it's so hard not to hehehe). 2012 Ford F150 XLT CrewCab w/ 3.5L EcoBoost V6 - Livernois Motorsports 93 Octane Performance Tune - 6000k HIDs Hi/Lo + Fogs - 5% Tint all around w/ 7" Brow (50% windshield soon) - 6" BDS Suspension Lift + 2" Leveling Kit - 35x12.50 Toyo Open Country M/Ts - 20" Chrome Ballistic Jester Wheels - 4" Heartthrob Exhaust - Airraid Cold Air Intake - Pioneer AVH-P4400BT - 2x Sundown SA 10s in under-seat ported enclosure. ibf150
good looking truck, love the Jesters almost got those wheels but no serious negative offset available. I hate to say it but I had problems with my prefab box couldnt get good sound quality even with shallow subs due to them not having room for excursion, hope it works out for you. Hikato
Yeah, I'll probably add something to pick it up off the ground some. Nobody really rides in my back seat, but I can probably get it high enough to let them get their movement on and not be too uncomfortable. I'll be running my KnuKonceptz tomorrow and powering them with my buddy's Hifonics amp, as my amp won't be here until next Wednesday. I gotta get 'em moving so I can see more of what they can do! 2012 Ford F150 XLT CrewCab w/ 3.5L EcoBoost V6 - Livernois Motorsports 93 Octane Performance Tune - 6000k HIDs Hi/Lo + Fogs - 5% Tint all around w/ 7" Brow (50% windshield soon) - 6" BDS Suspension Lift + 2" Leveling Kit - 35x12.50 Toyo Open Country M/Ts - 20" Chrome Ballistic Jester Wheels - 4" Heartthrob Exhaust - Airraid Cold Air Intake - Pioneer AVH-P4400BT - 2x Sundown SA 10s in under-seat ported enclosure.
