Replacing the heater core on my truck. Apparently you have to remove the ENTIRE dash in order to remove the HVAC box, which has to be removed in order to get access to the heater core. Actually swapping the heater core takes all of 2:00 minutes and only 2 8mm screws

Well I guess I'll take this time to do a thorough cleaning of the dash, fire wall, HVAC system and anything else that's dirty. Fucking ford lol.

Here's a little bit after I started. Already have the steering wheel/column out:

After about 2 more hours of looking for all the hidden bolts holding the dash on, it's finally coming loose:

BB3C9EC0-DC83-4DA3-AB6D-7DE84C9986FB-333

It took another hour or so to get all the wiring harnesses unhooked to where the dash was 100% seperated, but I finally got it out:

E5697831-3158-47C9-A957-993D28ECD26B-333

And here is a bunch of the dash parts laying in the bed of the truck:

D8DC8CC2-4F53-419B-85A7-7E2EA87921BE-333

Now it's time to give everything a good cleaning and get the HVAC box off to replace the leaky core and then reassemble everything. I've got about 5 hours into it so far, lets hope it goes back together quicker.

If only Ford left it like he previous generation trucks where only the glove box had to come out to access the thing... Sometimes I really question their engineering...

Oh I know, I had a 1994 ranger and it literally took 20-30 minutes to replace the heater core in that thing. This one is a 1996 and it is a 5-8 hour job. SMH

Edit- I should say its a 5-8 hour job if you know what your way around a wrench and aren't doing anything extra like cleaning everything the way I am.
