RyanJ Posted December 22, 2012 Report Posted December 22, 2012 So lets get down to business. Hope everyones weekend started out well. So my brother and I just went christmas shopping and he said he wanted to a system. He asked what would be more beneficial for his 10 civic: 2 original CVR's 12's or 1 SA-15. The CVR's are on sale right now so that's what he's looking towards due to his budget (400$ for sub / amp). I know there are no "vs" thread's but I'm not really asking which is better, but which would be more worth it. They will be powered off a brz1200.1 probably. If he does get the 2 12's, box size isn't a problem and same with the sa-15. Any feedback would be great. THANKS! Happy Holidays ! Tebo Posted December 22, 2012 Report Posted December 22, 2012 I would go with the sa15 all day long I think he will like that better. Guest Posted December 22, 2012 Report Posted December 22, 2012 which cvr's? you can get two type r 12's for like $375. i would probably do that over anything, to be honest.
Maebros Posted December 22, 2012 Report Posted December 22, 2012 Well you will get a better quality product with the sundown. So in that sense rhe sundown would be more worth it HU: Pioneer AVH x5800BHS SP Amp: AQ 120.4 Front SP: Hertz Hsk 165 Rear SP: DD cxs 6.5 SW Amp: Crescendo BC2000d SW 2 DC level 3 12" Electrical: Stock alt for now XS D2400 XS D3400 Knukonceptz Kolossus Second skin damplifier On 8/8/2012 at 4:50 PM, Brandon15zzz said: I heard he actually graduated college with a 4.0 gpa. RyanJ Posted December 22, 2012 Author Report Posted December 22, 2012 The old or new cvrs. I read reviews about the old one being better but idk. Which ever. And I thought type rs weren't the best MOB-MOBILE: 2005 Honda Accord 5-Speed System: (1) Sundown Audio SA-15 (1) MB Quart ONX1.1500D (1) Kenwood KDC-248U Speakers: -Rear Dash: (2) Clarion SRQ6932R 6x9's SOLD New MOB-MOBILE: 2011 G37S Sedan System:TBD Instagram (18+) : DabsWitaBudget415
RyanJ Posted December 22, 2012 Author Report Posted December 22, 2012 I can get both the new or old cvrs for 200$ for both 12s. Or one sa15 for 230. This leaves me 200-170$ for the amp MOB-MOBILE: 2005 Honda Accord 5-Speed System: (1) Sundown Audio SA-15 (1) MB Quart ONX1.1500D (1) Kenwood KDC-248U Speakers: -Rear Dash: (2) Clarion SRQ6932R 6x9's SOLD New MOB-MOBILE: 2011 G37S Sedan System:TBD Instagram (18+) : DabsWitaBudget415
CleanSierra Posted December 22, 2012 Report Posted December 22, 2012 Have you figured in ground/power wire(plus fuses),RCAs, and speaker wire? I believe the SA is your better purchase as well. Who's building the enclosure, because that's what will truly make the difference, regardless of equipment used. Im not the one you want to try to troll. Just a fyi for you.
Guest Posted December 23, 2012 Report Posted December 23, 2012 type arghhs are fantastic starter woofers. and i didnt see the $400 for both subs and amp, so disregard my post.

RyanJ Posted December 25, 2012 Author Report Posted December 25, 2012 Sorry for the late response. So I saw a set-up with Omega5002 with his single CVR (90$) ran off a MB Quart FX1.600 (90$) built in a custom 32hz box. Do you think if I got my brother a single CVR (eventually, get him another 1 maybe in January or tell him to buy it himself), would it better to buy the MB Quart FX1.600 and run it at 2 ohm (600rms) or get a BRZ1200.1D and run it at 4 ohms (450rms) and so when he gets the other sub, we can run it at 2 ohms (900 rms) instead of having to buy another MB Quart FX1.600 or sell the old one and upgrade to a bigger amp. Any suggestinos!
