Oklahoma45 Posted December 22, 2012 Report Posted December 22, 2012 Today I went shopping at the Dallas, tx best buy for curistmas, as my friend is an employee, we of course looked at the car audio, LONG story short I bought a kicker dx1000.1 on a employee discount for 200$! It says 2 ohms > 1000 watts? I guess kicker said fuck 1ohm stable amplifiers

TeamHT Posted December 22, 2012 Report Posted December 22, 2012 Um...kicker has amps stable at 1 ohm. Really all it boils down to is wiring preference Tell me...does this smell like chloroform to you?
Oklahoma45 Posted December 23, 2012 Author Report Posted December 23, 2012 Well this amp is NOT stable at 1 ohm unfortunately. It does state tho it is capable of 1k @2 ohms.. So I figure all will be well.
scoobywrx05 Posted December 23, 2012 Report Posted December 23, 2012 At what voltage does it say it produces that 1000 watts? Just curious.
Rmichael91 Posted December 23, 2012 Report Posted December 23, 2012 My buddy works at the local best buy, as the geeksquad installer. I go up and bs with him all the time while hes working. I've looked at that same amp, played with the one he's got in the bay running the bench system, and its alright. I'd rather have more capability and stability with it though. It should do enough for you though. But in all honestly, the most I'd honestly buy from up there (just my preference) is either a headunit or a dash kit. They really don't have much product span instore for my tastes. But I'll admit with him working there and being master certified installer, demoing customers vehicles before they pick them up is a perk lol.
dereileak Posted December 23, 2012 Report Posted December 23, 2012 kickers amps are tested @ 14.4, but they will come with a certificate that shows the actual test, like my zx2500.1, which I got for $440 when I worked there, normally costs $1200, you can get it for like $800-900 online, and it tested @ 2845RMS @ 14.4 volts according to kicker, they make nice amps if you can get them cheaper 2006 Mazda3 Hatchback Black 5 Spd ManualPioneer 4300DVD2 Sundown SA-12 (34hz Tune, 3.22 cubes, 14.5 inches per cube, Triple Baffle)Kicker 10ZX2500.1 (2845 RMS) Sub AmpKicker 11ZX650.4 (705 RMS) Mid Amp -- (3 Amps)Kicker KQ3 Active CrossoverKicker KQ30 EqualizerKicker 09QS60.2 Components (Woven Carbon Cones)Kicker 09QS65.2 Components (Woven Carbon Cones) - (3 Sets)2/0 Gauge Electron Beam Technologies (3 Runs, 2 +, 1 -) 1/0 Gauge KNU Kollasal Flex (1 Run for -) 300 Ft Kicker X-Series 16 Gauge Speaker WireXS Power D3400 (Rear)XS Power D3100 (Front)Singer Externally Regulated Alternator (Being Built)+ The Love for Car Audio and BASS <3UBL Build Log <------- Click Here-------> Normal Build Log (For Comments)
