integra mechanic?

so my check engine light came on in my 2000 integra

first things first grabbed the code ready and got 5 codes

p0420 - catalyst system efficieny below threshold bank 1

p0300 - random / multiple cylinder misfire detected

p0302 cylinder 2 misfire detected

p0303 cylinder 3 misfire detected

p0304 cylinder 4 misfire detected

anyone have any experience with this, just changed the spark plugs but not sure on the first code?

Is it the Vtec or regular B18 LS?

How does the car run? Is it lacking power?

Did you only change spark plugs, or did you do them with wires? If not replace distributor cap, rotor, and wire and see how the car drives.

If the mis-fire is bad and going long enough is can damage your converter. If converter gets cloged is will cause the car to mis-fire.

If i remember i think Honda/Acura had problems with the distributor going bad.

NGK plugs AND the blue NGK wires are what hondas and acuras love most. If thats not what you have in it, I suggest you you do as MOST ignition problems would be solved with that brand on that car.

well my dad checked out the car and said its running fine and havnt noticed anything performance wise being affected so im thinking its my air intake and my cf hood because its got vents all over it and the filter was soaked this morning

power seems fine, car starts fine, so im blaming the cold air intake and my hood as its got huge vents in it so it was just getting soaked

if thats the case you should definitely mold a box over it. Last thing you need is a hydro lock.

just lettin you know too man, thats a short ram you have not a cold air....cold air is much longer than that pipe and usually tends to bend towards the ground. Short ram sits right in the engine bay where all the hot air is.
