alaskanzx5
should be good, if by chance it doesnt completely stop the voltage drop for most part it would be a really good start. audiofanaticz
No matter what your going to have some voltage drop, unless you can produce more amperage then your stereo and vehicle needs to run at max load via a high amperage alternator, however you will need reserve and thats where the battery will come into play. Before buying a D3100, I would suggust looking at its dimensions and be sure it will fit under your hood. Its a rather large battery. The d3100 is a good battery, way more then you need for a 1500 watt amp, so it should do the job you need done well. Doing the big 3 upgrade will help a little bit, but not much since Im assuming your running a stock alternator, which is probably about 105amps, and the factory cable used can support that amperage load without a doubt, so upgrading the charge wire from your alternator to your battery wont make the alternator make any more power. Nathan @ XSpower
You may still have a little dimming of your lights just depending on what your system is actually doing and how it is wired up. Def do the Big 3 with some 0 guage.
Banshee421
Stock alt is 130 amp. Could I just put a bigger alt and leave current battery. Think my truck runs a group 27 battery
Watch the bass
Bigger alt for 1500 extra watt´s it´s all time a good idea. Normaly your alt have a reserve of 10-20 %. If you run your 1500 watt RMS full tilt would it be nice to have 220 + H/O alt. Nathan @ XSpower
Depending on what amp you are using and how you use your system. Do the Big3 first before you do anything and see what it does for you.

alaskanzx5
an h/o load could help a lot. specaily if you plan on adding more to the system like a 4 channel for the doors. like you said though the stock batt needs replacing so i would go that route. chances are a d3100 will fit with little to no moddifications. what truck is it anyways?
