Is a box tuned to 41 or 42 hz safe for daily driving?

Listen to it set at 35 and see if you don't hear any nasty mechanical noise. Might be able to lower it closer to 30 idk its hard to say. I would really have to hear it in person.

Hows it sound down around 33ish with that enclosures 40's tuning? Kinda quiet and mostly moving air?

It should be around the f3 of your enclosure but that is hard to know without the right tools

It depends on the woofer as well, some are built for lower tuned boxes, and some are built to work better tuned higher.

If you had the new smd impedance detector, it can help find the f3 right?

I run the dd3512's and slamminbeats said that he thinks 38 hz is the best tune for them. He said if tuned lower than 34 it's pointless because it doesn't play any lower.. He said they do well covering a lot of frequencies

find your f3 on the TL or do [tuning/2]/2="x" tuning-x=f3 point in theory i believe??

so 40 hz/2/2=10 40-10=30hz=subsonic set to here, again im not 100% sure and this is allllll theory

the lower you tune, the lower they will play, with DD's for some reason they just dont need to be tuned low to accomplish that, i was tuned at 36.5hz and played 20 hz full tilt safely...

edit: i guess my power was a little on the low side, still louder @ 20 than on my 9512s, these lil f*cker wont play 30 w/o freaking

that is a decent rule of thumb but nothing can substitute for an actual tool
