Is a box tuned to 41 or 42 hz safe for daily driving?

i cant tell you how many boxes ive designed that have had an f3 higher than tuning or right at tuning

those designs are trash and all but one never got built.

Well I'm going to shim my port and my frequency will be around 38hz and I'm running 2400 rms to these subs which is what their rms is... Do you think I should just set it at 30 to be safe and sacrifice loosing some lows? Or 25hz?

if you can you could do an external round port and change it out to lower the tuning starting around 40hz then lower it to about 2hz at a time until your happy with it. after that build a new box if you want to the tuning that you liked the most.

Since you're tuned pretty high (in my opinion at least), I'd set the LPF at around 30ish but it really depends on your box orientation and setup. Sometimes you can get away with playing that low, sometimes you can't. My last box was tuned to high 30s (bad design probably since it was suppose to be at 33hz) and it played lows okay at best. Might be different in your car.

i'd set if at 25hz and be careful on the knob, i usually know exactly what freq a song is before i play it. If you are unsure ease into songs, and let them play through the bassline on a low volume first.

Ok, I'll just set it around 30 to be safe... I'm more of a high base lover than low bass. I like the sound that makes your head right. I'll set it about 28-30
