Max1636
I was thinking today about having Pro Audio subwoofers in a car. I mean their generally cheaper, and they are much more efficient. I once wanted to run an 18" Pro Audio sub in my car but the issue was it was an 8 Ohm woofer which was difficult. But If I had 4 woofers I could get an impedance of 1 Ohm which is perfect for most amps. These for example: http://www.ebay.com....#ht_4183wt_1398 The description seems to be missing but the title says '1000w', so we could presume 500w RMS, so with 4 18" woofers I would only need a 2000w RMS amp (I'd go a bit over but just as an example). Are there any member rides on here using Pro Audio subwoofers? How would 4 of these compare to my single Fi SP4? I would assume Pro Audio subs wouldn't be able to play the lows as well but tuning could help? ProMaxx316
I can help much buy here's my friends set up in his car. All Menace audio. IB set up. The set up is very simple and sounds pretty damn good. Im sure your not gonna get the flex or excursion to get much out of them. but if you got the time and the little extra money to have fun to do a different set up i say go for it. If it's worth building, it's worth over building.

So do you think even if I had 4 of these Eminence woofers they would not be as powerful as my single Fi SP4 3000w RMS sub I have now?I'm wanting to get louder and I'm only taking this option because it would be cheaper than buying another Fi SP4 because then I will need 6000w RMS of power at least. Tito DeLatorre
4 of them would easily beat a single sp4. due to cone area and sensitivity.
OrangeJuiced
Why not try obsidian audio 18's? They're 600 rms and like $199 2001 GMC Sierra Build. Body dropped and Juiced

8ight
Pro audio woofers are just that, woofers. Big difference between those and subwoofers. Pro audio subs usually come in cabinets, like this http://www.cerwinvega.com/pro-audio/folded-horn-subwoofer/folded-horn-subwoofer-series.html I'm gonna hate
ChevyBoy95
4 of them would easily beat a single sp4. due to cone area and sensitivity. It isnt about cone area, it is about displacement. The sp4 has what, 30mm one way? So 60mm p2p. So ~432 cubic inches of air displacement, not to mention motor force over the pa subs. 4 18 pa's have 6.7mm or 13.4mm peak to peak each. They have about 360 cubic inches of displacement. Soooooo, the sp4 can displace more air, handle more power than all 4 pa's, and has wayyyy more motor force.
