I wish I had the balls to have you do something to my explorer doors while I am here in Tampa. I just cant talk myself into putting any holes in the door panels. Well let me put the holes in the panels. You won't have to. I think my fiance would kill me if I did that, especially after what I did to my truck. Stock is good enough to keep up with a pair of 8s for now. Need the room to travel and pack my life up. Look at this pic for mounting them to door... As for mounting the speakers, I use real tapered wood screws or nutserts in the ring.
