Joe X
also how big should the brace in the port be 8 by 4 3/8 is that good thanks again Make sure it starts at the inner end of the port, it is not made to the full length of the port for aesthetic reasons so between 8-10 whatever you consider looks best. Don't forget the top to bottom crossbrace to the center of the baffle. And if you want any other boxes drawn at some point just post up.

Joe X
13.63 is a little big for them subs isn't it? And for spl purposes? If you mean that the subs are going to bottom out, that's not happening even at 550W per sub. However, and I didn't mention this, subsonic filter should be engaged in most ported boxes half an octave below tuning frequency.
Hotdog
What year explorer? How many watts? SPL purpose tune to 38hz for an Explorer. Will sound good and get loud box design looks good just tune it to 38hz do a 3/4 round over around the top of the box and around the port and sand it smooth. Better air flow will get you extra tenths on the meter. Joe X
99 explorer and 1000 rms for now, then 2000 later If listening mainly to rap and such I wouldn't tune to 38Hz, as is right now the box will perform well to 2.2K or 550W per sub. Also your subs should be dual 2 ohm to be wired at 1 ohm final load.
