Hi-Po 5.0
Just cause you used a dd-1 doesn't mean it's the end of clipping Using the -10db track increases the possibility of clipping cause all songs are at different volumes So if a dd-1 doesnt stop clipping and distortion why is it highly sold and used? Is it a "kinda of sorta of distortion dectector?" bdog
there are a few things that screw with you after the tune from a dd-1 like moving anything up on the EQ after tuning or playing already clipped music or dropping voltage. sundown rates the E at 400 watts and they know it takes 700 clean to kill it so when they see a thermal failure they know its user error. Banshee421
I know for a fact a e15 cant handle 700 watts smelled it with my own nose.

Big-A
I dont know why everyone has been bashing the DD1. If you watch the videos that Steve and Tony have made you will realize that its is essentially an O-Scope with a dummy light. It shows when you have a clipped or distorted signal when used properly, 99 percent of the dd1 problems are user error. Even if you used a 0db track and used an o-scope, depending on what track you are listening to and how you set up the headunit/eq will still be able to clip at certain frequencies and burn up your drivers.
