Two Aq 15s, on a Rockford fosgate t.1500, all stinger wiring (1/0) and a battery in the rear. So my problem is that once I hooked everything up and turned my truck on I got a weird quiet humming noise, so I pulled out my rcas and checked the connections. I pulled them out and I got a ear full off bass, like a constant note. loud thou. I've swapped my rcas with 3 different brands none ran close to the power wire or anything. lifes a BOX Posted January 28, 2013 Report Posted January 28, 2013 Do you have alot of extra speaker wire running your subs? They could be acting as an antenna if they are touching anything
wheres the flex at Posted January 28, 2013 Author Report Posted January 28, 2013 The ground is clean,I've used it before with another big system, the only thing is maybe some sound damper is touching the ground in some way? And the only speaker wire is 2ft of stinger wire coming off some stainless steel bolts im using as terminals. I've used all this before but never had this problem. I just hooked the rcas from the amp to the radio and it played full tilt at the boxes tuning. If you unhooked the rcas from the amp and you still get a tone. Obviously its getting interference from some where. If the speaker leads run straight to the box I doubt their pinched or something.. so if the speaker wire is ok.. then your left with the amp.. I've had an amp send a humming noise to the subs but it wasn't loud. Needless to say I sent it in for repair. It's a process of elimination. I guess it might have gotten loose but I got a local dealer to fix it. bigmescan Posted January 30, 2013 Report Posted January 30, 2013 I had this issue. I have a t400.4 and a t1000bd and I noticed subs where making a noise. So I unhooked RCA's then it stopped. After messing with RCA's on both amps the noise stopped. And every once in awhile I will get a ground noise from my componenets. I've looked at every connection. I've pulled the HU out to make sure nothing loose there. And the only thing I can think of is the bass knob. I've unhooked it as well and had no noise. Ever since I've hooked it backup I've heard no problems.
