I don't think I can say yes to such a broad generalized rule. Use this tool to figure out what your voltage drop will be and make a decision on CCA vs OFC

it isnt a thing of how much wattage, you can run 10k on CCA, you will just need 6 runs of 1/0. If you do OFC you will have less resistance and be able to run say 4 runs. Anything can be ran on CCA or OFC, it is up to you if you want to pay for the less resistive metal (copper).

rule of thumb is 250-300a of current through 1/0 OFC, and 200a or so through CCA.
