Well just tools really. If you did the big 3 then your set. its just a swap out. Now depending on the vehicle, it might be easy or it might be hard. If your alts on top, then no big deal. If its behind or below components, then youll have to remove all that before the alt. and obviously put everything back..

As far as the procedure, well if you could post your specs, what size engine im assuming its an 06 tb. I bought a haynes manual for my car and it makes it alot easier. some people buy all data manuals etc.

Setup:

2010 Hyundai Elantra

Factory Unit via 4 chan NVX LOC

Excessive Amperage "H/O" Alt

Xs D3400/ Xs XP3000

Big 3. 2 Runs of +, 2 Runs of -

DD M3b and 2 12" AQ HDC4s

oh lol already installed. Well define "more than what your suv needs" i assume you mean voltage? As long as the voltage is 14.x your good. dont worry about it. If its in the 15s all the time.. yea thats high.. you may want to see if you need a different harness or something from DC or look into an adjustable voltage module..

whats your voltage..how are you measuring said voltage?

hmm.. I mean it depends what you mean by going crazy.. most gauges jump around some when starting but obviously this isnt something normal thats different that what the gauges always did for however long before this.. Ive seen a few cars have cluster issues and get all jumpy etc.. in those cases it was a computer issue. So id be careful and make sure you dont need a harness or soemthing. Call Dc power and ask. Also, when disconnecting the power from the vehicle, ive seen the factory security systems cause issues after reconnecting.. im not real familiar with them, but I have seen some issues. Also my haynes manual always has something listed for disarming the gm theftlock system before disconnecting the power for any given procedure.. Could be something to do with that.

Def dont wanna mess up your computer though..
