Go to ur financial aid office and see if you can take out a loan......

he wouldnt be the first to say they did a 167 with a system like that (one that clearly DOESNT), but i have to say, he didnt beat me anywhere, ive never competed against the guy. If he thinks his does a 167, mine would probably put him in a coma. :hairtrick:

I understand the situation, I wish I could be of more help. I'm also a college student and can see eye to eye on the situation. I had a car warp the heads but I'm lucky enough to have a mechanic as an uncle that helped me out, but it was still pricey. I've been in debt to my father a couple times due to car issues, it's no fun at all. I wish the best to you, man!

Yeah man like i said this wouldnt be a problem if i was in florida, or if i could get my car to florida. Dad as a mechanic with his own shop and lift and thousands of dollars in tools... but 1500 miles is a bit far for me to push the car LOL

i might try that, only issue is my aunt. she didnt want me to get this car she wanted me to wait till i graduate college for a car and graduate grad school for a system. I gave her the finger on that idea, worked hard and got all i wanted before i came to college here. If i pull out a loan that she didnt authorize she might cut off my college money that she is paying for. im trying to see if there is anything else i can do before i piss off my aunt and lose my chance at the next 2 years paid for over a transmission.

Is there any way she can find out how much i owe total? She already took out a small loan to help build my credit and put it in a savings account. Knowing her she wont let me use that one. But my question is if i find a way to take out another small loan to pay for this tranny can she call the place and get like a total owed report?

Does your college have an automotive shop? I know most colleges do. Go to a junkyard and find a decent tranny and take it there or find a tech school around you that has one and ask if you can swap it in. They should help you because theyre getting experience?

That is actually a bad ass suggestion. I asked and they don't have one at my school. I'm gonna check our rival school university of Texas. Then I gotta find a junk yard.

Any other ideas? Keep them coming guys I need all I can get. Right now I'm trying to find funding in any place I can get and calling favors from people I shouldn't. I really don't wanna sell my bass yet but I will if I can't get it fixed by late April. I appreciate your guy's thoughts and time

I completely forgot about that. Great idea, I'd say that would work perfect.

It would if my school had one. That's why I'm gonna check with other schools around me. It's all good though if that idea works I might not need to sell my soul to get a working car again. Right now I'm at the point where the next place I drive it is to the shop where it will be fixed. It was running decent until a shop I brought it to the guy practically floored it and slammed my breaks 15 times to try to see what it was doing. Now it pissed my car off and I hardly got home

So does the transmission not work at all? Or does it only go up to like 2nd gear and stop shifting after that point? My car only went into 2nd gear and wouldn't shift up any further (everyone called it limp mode around google). I was getting a code for the transmission control unit (TCU) which is part of the car's computer and can't be replaced. I read somewhere that if I changed the fluid in the transmission and put in a new filter that it would reset the TCU and the car would work fine. And it did! But about a month or 2 later it started doing the same thing. I finally broke down and took it into a professional shop, and they determined that it was a bad valve in the transmission and replaced it for like $400 (I got lucky my parents payed for it). I'm not sure that this would be your situation, but just sharing in case it might help in any way.Good luck, and hopefully you don't need an entire transmission!
