Swordlordboy1234
I didn't blow it... It didn't burn a coil. What I think happened was a damaged direct lead jacket shorted out the whole coil. Ask anyone how careful I am with how I set stuff up, I've told you about it personally Thomas. I'm 99% sure I didn't blow the sub due to abuse or clipping. 2 possibilities are the direct lead having some kinda wear on the jacket and shorting out. Option 2 is when I installed that sub maybe I "slammed/pinched" the direct lead between my baffles and the basket and created the exposed wire which then shorted. I don't know where the blame is but I'm calling it a freak accident and it will be fresh and working here again soon. bighossf150
you just seem to have the same luck as orionstang lol. at turkey drag you babied your stuff and lost a sub while I beat the holy hell out of mine, clipping, low voltage, playing 10hz under tuning etc and didn't have one issue. just imo, I think direct leads are pointless, I ordered my hdd's with push terminals. Swordlordboy1234
Well I broke the push terminals on the XFL's too.... And I'm kinda knee deep in these subs unless I sell them for a decent price one day since they are about as close to a 400$ dd3512 as you can get in this world. So I like to think they are worth somewhere more then stock XFL's because of the improved parts and less then dd3512's because slightly less cooling and a hair less motor force. But we will see... Also... I spoke with robin butler about my box, he says to really get the performance out of this box I need to move up to big boy woofers. 50+ lb 12's... He says I don't have much cone movement because I'm lacking the motor force needed to play them with the port area he gave me. Its efficient as piss but he said I need stronger motors with a nice low FS below 36 but not like a sq woofer with a FS of 20hz. Anywhere between 30 and 36 with a bunch more motor force is what he recommends.
