i have found that spiral batteries are not as good as agm for car audio. i would have bigger voltage drops when useing said spiral.

todays optima is garbage. dont even bother with them.

edit: yes every optima battery is AGM. but dont put regular car batteries inside your car. the fumes will fuck up your brain and can kill you. get AGM batteries only.

What is dirty cheap. And wasen´t it N8e with a vew Optima´s in his build???

Only 2 K-watt´s and a 350 amp Singer, in principle you are fine with you electrical system for your stereo and the need´s of the car.

If you go up to 5 K invest the money and get a XS-Power D7500 http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_66602_XS-Power-D7500.html than you have the little reserve.

Here you can see what special caraudio batt´s does if you put 500 amp´s of strain = 5 K watt´s on them

Optimas are spiral cells. The main point to that design is weight savings.

For the footprint they have, they have less lead than standard geometry AGM batts. This makes them lighter but also they have less capacity.

So for the same sized batt, you can get way more power from other batts.

Also, a few years ago, optima was sold to Johnson control who moved their production from the US to Mexico. Tolerances and quality in materials have diminished and the current product you get is inferior to the older products.

Older Optimas could last 10 years. Current models have been known to crap out within a year in many cases.
