Opinions on what to do here?

Recommended Posts

those amps are rated and capable of doing .5ohm, but without the proper electrical to back up the extra current draw your still at risk of damaging the amp...

I think you would be better off doing like N8 said and going with 2 amps 1 per sub or looking for a 2ohm stable amp that has the power your looking for...

AQ/SQ2200 so you could do like a Crescendo BC3500 which is 1900w at 2ohm, and have power on hand for future upgrades or changes....honestly either way your going to need to beef up your electrical, if your running at .5ohm or a 2ohm workhorse...

2 AQ/SQ1200's would probably be your cheapest option, its a little more than a AQ/SQ2200 and a couple hundred less than the Crescendo BC3500

See thats what im saying, but if i got two seperate amps id run @ 1 ohm, not .5. what would be my best bet? selling my D2 and getting a D4?(losing money) or getting 2ohm workhourse(Expensive) or getting two seperate 1k amps?

look for a used kx2500 or zx 2500

or buy a massive db series, they are cheap for what you get and run all day at half ohm. (have personally ran some for a year at.35 and .17)

dude thats way over my budget

you obviously looked in the wrong place, and obviously have no capacity to help yourself achieve what your looking to do. what your looking for CAN be done for less then 400 bucks.

thats why i made this thread, i dont know what im going to do, i and FYI i have done alot of research with my own knowledge. I come here to receive help from others that have MORE knowledge about this stuff.

Hey James lay off him a little. The SQ 2200's are $430, as found here http://www.soundqubed.com/Q1-2200D_p_31.html

Also, it costs about $120 + shipping to have two SA's reconed by Sundown, thats recone prices and the labor cost combined.
